We know that requests for applications are expecting prompt replies. We try hard to reply quickly but PIN is a small charity, totally voluntary and can only process a limited amount of applications. The trustees meet once a month to process the first 10 applications the rest go into the following month.
Please read the following before requesting a form.
DIAGNOSES
We finance independent reports when a parent has to appeal their Local Authority’s decision to refuse an EHCP or appeal the contents of one. Whilst a medically diagnosed disability may support a request for a SEN assessment it is not proof that a child or young person may have needs that will need to be provided for in an EHCP. There may be evidence that there are needs such as moderate to severe difficulties with social communication, speech and language, sensory processing and other needs that are traits of a disability not yet medically diagnosed but still requiring support.
Parents/carers can still pursue a request for assessment or an appeal against
refusal to issue by providing Evidence of Need.
Every child is entitled to a diagnosis, if it is deemed necessary, and you shouldn’t have to pay for it independently. But given the current waiting list you could always ask the Cauldwell Trust for support:

EHCP ASSESSMENTS
If you have been turned down for an EHCP assessment by your Local Authority, put in an appeal to SENDIST (The Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal) with all the evidence that you have already submitted. The chances are that the refusal was a time-wasting strategy and you do not need more evidence at this stage.
If the LA refuses to assess or issue an EHCP after assessment you can appeal and at this point you may need some additional funding so email us and we will send you an application form.
The same applies if you are appealing the content of an EHCP and need evidence for an appeal.
